Gravity - 4th anniversary party

FANU / FanuSamurai (Lightless Rec./Helsinki, FIN)



Janne Hatula ist die Figur hinter den Künstlernamen Fanu und FanuSamurai. Ersterer der Beiden konzentriert sich auf Drum & Bass, während letzterer Downtempo orientierte Projekte produziert. Fanu fing Mitte der Neunziger an sich für Jungle und Drum & Bass zu interessieren, bahnbrechende Zeiten, wie er behauptet, bezüglich seiner Einstellung zum Drum and Bass aber auch was die Gestaltung und Formung des Drum & Bass an sich angeht. „Ich gestalte den heutigen Drum & Bass mit der Ästhetik der Vergangenheit“, sagt Fanu. Seine Veröffentlichungen bis dato sind auf Subtitles, Commercial Suicide, Offshore und vielen anderen Labels zu finden. Als wäre das noch nicht genug, ist er außerdem gerade dabei, eine eigene Plattenfirma zu gründen. Mit dem Namen „Lightless Recordings“, will er sich auf den Stil konzentrieren, den er auch pusht: deep atmospheres and dirty fat beats.
