PROLIX

According to the dictionary, Prolix means [to talk or write] ‘at great length’. Taking that depiction and running with it like a crazy kid with a pair of scissors, Chris McCarthy thought it made an appropriate moniker for a man who, at 6’7”, has an impressively lengthy stature. However, it’s his music that speaks volumes and, since 2005, Prolix has been making massive statements with his own blend of high-octane drum & bass. Having been a big rock and metal fan during his teens, Prolix had taken up the guitar and played in bands, but eventually made the passage into electronic music through artists such as The Prodigy, Orbital and Aphex Twin. It wasn’t long before the bug to sequence his own tracks and the similar levels of passion and excitement between rock and drum & bass pushed Prolix into following the production path. Hooking up with Noisia through an online music sharing community in 2004, Prolix made several trips to Holland to work on tunes with the boys. The results of these collaborative efforts came out on Mayhem’s Shadow Law Recordings and Stakka’s label, Cargo. After these early successes Prolix began to hone his studio skills and another collaboration with Nocturnal was quickly snapped up by Renegade Hardware. ‘Crater’ is the track that acted as a turning point for a fresh faced artist who was soon to be remixing Chase & Status’ ‘Barbarian’ for the ‘Ten Tonne’ EP and catching the ear of the one they call DJ Hype. With Hype and Pascal liking the twisted beats and mangled basslines emanating from Prolix’ studio, it was decided they wanted to sign this relatively new talent exclusively. But with the predominant output of Ganja being jump up, it was decided that a whole new imprint would need to be created for Prolix, and similar artists. Thus Ganja-Tek was born and Prolix’ career cemented into the annals of drum & bass history. 'Exile' b/w ‘Chokehold’ was the first release on the label, picked up by everyone who appreciates the darker side of life including Bailey and BBC Radio 1’s Mary Anne Hobbs; while subsequent releases have been bashing the living daylights out of hordes of ravers across the globe in the sets of some of the scene’s most respected DJs. Having quit his full time job and moved to London to pursue music, Prolix admits he’s taken a huge step forward both musically and productively. With his studio setup running smoothly, some fresh monitors and enough time on the day to day to get into the studio and work on tracks and techniques, it’s clear to see that the future is bright for Prolix and Ganja-Tek. AXIOM

Axiom stepped into the Drum and Bass scene in 2005,when he met Optiv (C4C) at a party and was invited for a collaboration, the result was the tune "nightfalls" which was released on Optiv’s redlight recordings. Shortly after that, the collaboration with Optiv and Chris.Su created the amazing "soulcube" which received support from all the major players in the scene and began opening eyes worldwide.
Axiom’s sound, derived from ambient and experimental electronic music, fuses together to create an equally disturbing and effective dance floor tune and is also right at home on your music player, this has helped enable Axiom to release tunes on the number 1 record labels in Drum and Bass today including the huge Renegade Hardware imprint, and branching from every corner of the earth with releases on New Zealand labels Uprising and State Of Mind Music, Habit Recs, Shadow Law & Hostile Recordings - USA, DSCI4, C2D and Relight Recordings – UK and Sydrome, Disturbed and Citrus imprint.
Axiom live shows consist of a rolling selection of fresh exciting Drum and Bass, predominately on the neurofunk and tech tip, with fast moving mixing and cuts, he’s been in demand with shows every weekend and internet mixes getting downloaded in their thousands, Axiom is hot property.
PROKTAH

Damien Simonot is 24 years old french, born in Paris and presently living in the south of Germany
in a little town called Constance.
He stumbled into dnb whilst doing an alternative-rock show at a local radio-station. "I can´t remember why
but somebody gave me teebee´s "human raptile", so basically that must have been around 2000/2001.
That tune simply fascinated me." Since then dnb has been a major part of Proktah´s life...
First as an MC then as a producer and now finally also as dj.
He started producing around 2004 under the alias of "Frenchi" and kept on going, producing all kinds of styles.
Concentrating on the more technical aspects of this sound since 2006, he recently changed his name into Proktah.
His style is heavily influenced by the *******s of neuro-funk. But sticking to his musical roots -reggae and alternative
-rock-,proktah´s style is an unmistakable one within the wide range of today´s neuro-funk.
Further more, Proktah is responsible for the a&r of the uprising Flight Recordings; a us based dnb label with a big future coming up.
featured artists are misanthrop, N.phect, Dementia & Rregula, lost sequence, Proktah himself and more.
With forthcoming releases on the mighty Shadybrain, Close2Death Basswerk, Flight rec and Melting Pot imprints, as well as
have-a-break rec and Trust in Music rec and more, Proktah is definately worth keeping an eye on in the near future.
