Die neue Veranstaltungsreihe wide open eyes shut ist der Versuch, Genres, deren gemeinsame Präsentation im Kontext der selben Veranstaltung nicht üblich ist, zu einem runden Ganzen zu verschmelzen. Das Ziel der Kompositionen aus Bands, Live Acts, Djs und Vjs ist es, ebenso zum Staunen, wie zum Tanzen zu bewegen. „It will satisfy both ears and legs.“ - Was als Konzert beginnt wird als Party enden.

Mit seinen entspannten Ambient Klangflächen, oft kombiniert mit idm-lastigen Breakbeat Spielereien könnte man den Grazer Herwig Holzmann alias Photophob stilistisch im Bereich der »emotional electronica« einordnen, denn Melancholie und Verstörung sind die beiden Hauptelemente seines musikalischen Schaffens. Photophob hat bis jetzt zwei Tonträger auf dem u.s.-amerikanischen Label Hive Records und etliche MP3-Alben auf diversen international renommierten Netlabels veröffentlicht und ist seinerseits Mitbegründer und Betreiber des österreichischen Netlabels »laridae«.

Kleemar [prekmurje noise conspiracy / murska sobota]
Kleemar is not your ordinary musician. He's a persona that has created his own unique view on the world of music making, partly thanks to him perceiving subtle messages in Aerosmith songs and using Atari products. It would be wrong to label Kleemar as (just) an IDM or electronica artist. These words bear no real substance, other than Kleemar being close to the sounds of Warp and Morr Music records!
Therefore, the label 'allrounder' is far more suitable and better describes Kleemar's perception and intake of music from allover. His instruments are keys and buttons, whether synth keys, computer keyboard keys or drum machine buttons – these are the devices that encourage Kleemar to start making his own music (in the year 2000). After six years of active work, Kleemar has played numerous club and festival gigs, he has collaborated with a world renown choreographer Matjaž Farič and a young theatre director Luka Škof (individually with each, of course).
The music on Kleemar's recordings sounds precise, clear and very detailed. Kleemar's music is embellished with his excellent sense for rhythm, ear-caressing melodies, his innovative and unique feeling for recycling something that's been heard before into his very own >Kleemarian< audio image.
But still: Kleemar live, is a different thing altogether! A sort of a »Mr. Hyde« variant of his songs, self-remixing performed live. What sets Kleemar apart from his 'genre colleagues' is that he doesn't go on stage with a laptop, but with a couple of synths, a Rhodes electric piano, a melodica, guitar, bass, a drum machine and drums. The Kleemar live act consists of Sašo Benko (Psycho-Path, ex-Manul), David Halb (Sphericube), Jernej Šavel (Psycho-Path, Rae Mikkelson Band) and the man – Kleemar himself.

Als einer der anspruchvollsten grazer DJs bringt zvonko das Publikum nicht nur zum Tanzen, sondern v.a. auch zum Zuhören. Seine musikalische Auswahl besticht durch Abwechslung und Experimentelles. Seine Liebe zum Außergewöhnlichen macht seine Sets einzigartig.

Mit einem enormen Maß an Begeisterung(sfähigkeit) und einer stets passenden Plattenauswahl bringt DJ Cheever gekonnt jeden Dancefloor in Bewegung. Nicht nur als DJ, sondern v.a. auch als Mitglied des Produzentenkollektivs Liquid Squad (houseverbot recordings) bereichert der ehemalige Sans Secour Gitarrist seit vielen Jahren die grazer Musikszene.

Orjo [laridae / graz]
Universalkünstler Orjo wird die Veranstaltung mit beeindruckendem, pd-generiertem Bildmaterial versorgen. Als VJ hat er 2006 u.a. das Elevate Festival bespielt. Ansonsten ist Orjo u.a. als Electronica-Produzent und Bassist der Post-rock Formation earl mobileh aktiv.
