Mighty Crown, hailing from Yokohama Japan, rose to fame in 1999 after winning the World Clash in the USA, defeating the legendary Kilamanjaro Sound System. At first, clash fans labelled their victory as simple luck. However, after repeatedly seeing Mighty Crown in action, it was clear that they were a force to be reckoned with. The sound is led by brothers Sammy T and Simon, Ninja, their Jamaican selector, joined the crew over a year ago.
In addition to slots at the UK Cup Clash and World Clash events, Mighty Crown has received top billing at Death Before Dishonour (Jamaica's World Clash) and Rumours Of War (Trinidad & Tobago).
2005 has proved to be an eventful year for Mighty Crown, the year started with eagerly anticipated Jamaica World Clash (Death Before Dishonour), which crown were narrowly edged out by Bass Odyssey in the final round. Next stop London, Mighty Crown clearly had the crowd on their side and after the disqualification of Bass Odyssey the door was open for Crown to collect their second UK Cup Clash trophy. Sammy T and Simon also represented in Antigua World Clash, which they won with a landslide victory.
Both Sammy T and Simon will be on tour this October, so patrons and fans will be able to witness the original Mighty Crown flavour and no fraud.
