Hailing from Tokyo, Japan, HAYATO makes his production debut with BluSaphir LTD. The 22 year-old native has been making waves across his country for the last four years while performing alongside some of drum ‘n bass’ most innovative heavyweights, including securing a residency with a local high-scale event, NEON, featuring HEAVY1, ICICLE, SPECTRASOUL, and LENZMAN. A: DRIFTING CLOUDS
Imagine DRIFTING CLOUDS as a trip through the skies in a world of duality. Introduced by sublime pads, your soul takes flight towards the sun, before being interrupted by interfering aircraft. Mechanical atmospheres bring the minimal drop, while pitched-down vocals take some of your air away. You are reintroduced to the source melody at the break, but it isn’t long that drop number two sends you parachuting towards land, while the dark and robotic textures take you home.
AA: YOU GOT IT
YOU GOT IT is the second ‘dark roller’ on this release. Sporting similar mechanics as the previous, delayed vocals become the focal point alongside textured atmospheres, uplifting pads and a forward driving beat… Driving it straight to the dancefloor, that is. Female vocal snippets get chopped and mangled later in the tune before the next drop. Beautiful form and production is going to catapult the Japanese producer into the ranks of the drum ‘n bass heavyweights.
