die garage-abende haben sich ja mittlerweile wirklich mehr als etabliert; und das nicht wegen lalips' vodka-flasche vor zwei wochen.... 
wegen des grossen erfolges des vodkas spielen wir aber tatsächlich mit dem gedanken, die beliebtheit dieser donnertagsveranstaltung durch die erneute bereitstellung ebendieses kartoffelschnapses (stolichnaya baby!) zu gewährleisten -->  ... d.h.: watch the visuals! wenn die visuals sagen: "free vodka on stage"; dann schnell hingehn und anmelden (first come first served...)
besides that: zur leichteren orientierung des termin- und flyerübersättigten partyvolkes in wien haben wir folgenden rhythmus eingeführt: garage nun jeden zweiten donnerstag im monat (nein; nicht jeden 2., sondern 1x im monat am zweiten donnerstagstermin)
so let's do it loki-style:

ich befürchte durch meine anwesenheit wird man dieses mal weniger diese art "garage" zu hören bekommen.

seid nicht so peinlich jungs. man kann über garage diskutieren, ohne dass das ganze lächerlich wird - wenn man es will.
und ja, ich spiele dieses mal strictly 2step garage. das bedeutet keine einzige breakbeat nummer (ich weiß, es gibt einige hier, die den unterschied nicht verstehen können/wollen, aber das ist nicht mein problem).

2 step garage beats sind im einfachsten fall uk garage beats (4/4), wo jeder zweite kick fehlt (daher 2 step). es gibt auch komplexere versionen, aber so sind sie entstanden und elemente aus dem garage sind klar dabei (start/stop/shuffle, swing etc). snares gibt es oft gar nicht. klingt sehr stark nach timbaland r'n'b, aber schneller und mit härteren basslines. 2 step ist klar eine weiterentwicklung von uk garage. die neueste entwicklung in der garage szene ist grime, wo die beats oft sehr strange sind (es gibt auch tracks ohne beats).
beats, die man in der dnb szene als 2 step kennt, nennt man in der garage szene brekbeats (lustig). sie sind eher straight, kicks und snares kommen immer dort wo man sie erwartet vor. es gibt eine eigene szene, wo solche sachen gespielt werden - nuskool breaks.
nuskool breaks sound ist eher technoid. diese szene hat sich aus breakbeat 'ardcore entwickelt ('ardcore = oldksool breaks, daher der begriff nuskool breaks). klingt wie langsamer dnb. hat mit garage nichts zu tun, nur geschwindigkeit ist ähnlich.
mich stört es, dass man nuskool breaks als garage promotet. es gibt bereits einen namen für den sound.
und ja, wenn es leute gibt, die das alles mixen wollen, von mir aus (solange ich es mir nicht anhören muss, ist alles gut ), aber sowas garage zu nenen ist falsch. ein ergebnis davon ist z.b., dass du den unterschied zwischen garage und breaks nicht verstehst. und du bist sicherlich nicht der einzige.

Aber bitte, wenn 'Breaks' hundertundeine Bedeutungen hat haben Aussagen wie 'jemand kennt den Unterschied zwischen Breaks und Garage nicht' keinen Sinn mehr, logische Verwechslung, man meint mit breaks was anderes und du hast eben erklärt daß in der Garage szene breaks eigentlich die faderen Beats beschreibt, schon etwas irreführend, irgendwo, irgendwann hat break mal geheißen daß der rhythmische Fluß eines Tunes unterbrochen wird und mit solistischen Einlagen gefüllt wird .Aber ich danke auch für die Zeilen, lustig ist das.
