Daddy Freddy - born in Jamaica in 1965 - cut his musical teeth on Sugar Minott's Youthman Promotion Sound system, and by the middle of 1986 he had six top ten hits on the Jamaican charts. In 1987 he became an international star with the release of the "RaggaMuffin Hip Hop" album. He was proclaimed 'The World's Fastest Rapper' in 1988. After these hectic years he took a break but he entered the new millennium with a new album called "Old School New School".
Nowadays he mcs on the last The Bug album, Rawhill Crew, Pahel and Stereotype.

Start am 10.Juli ab 20h mit Workshops, Beginn des Abendprogramms ab 22h.

Besonderheit:

Die Visualist/Innen bzw. VJs stehen im Vordergrund, DJs müssen sich der Herausforderung stellen, die Musik den Bildern anzupassen und nicht wie sonst üblich umgekehrt! Da heißt es vorher gut überlegen was auf den Plattenteller kommt und sich mit dem jeweiligen Style der VJs ausgiebig auseinander zu setzen. Sicher nicht ganz so einfach, dafür kommen bei uns aber auch nur ausgewählte Djs zum Zug, die sich dieser Aufgabe gewachsen fühlen. Um hier die richtige Wahl zu treffen haben wir Cheap Records und Umberto Gollini an Bord geholt.

AK1200, America's original jungle/drum n bass don has been pushing the sound since the music's initial incarnation as hardcore breakbeat. AK started DJing in 1989. As Jungle music evolved and became more popular, so did AK1200. Also in 93, he was invited to the UK again, this time to DJ, and played alongside such greats as Hype, Mickey Finn, Swift and Zinc, Danny Breaks, SL2, and several others for a Christmas party. More recently, AK and longtime colleagues Dieselboy and Dara came to realize that they on their own had become the top three dnb DJ's in the US, so what would happen if they joined forces? The answer of course, was world domination, and the Planet of the Drums (POTD) crew was born.

Total Sciences, The pair first met in 1987, both living on Blackbird Leys estate in Oxford. After six years of recording singles for others, the pair established the CIA label in the closing months of 1997 with the help of Brillo from Timeless. Their debut album Advance exposed a further field of interest, with downtempo experiments logged as a series of "Breaks" on the majority of their early EP's extended to some superb deep house, this breadth taken a step further with their Skin Deep imprint which has forged broken beat to considerable acclaim. Their pioneering of a revival in old-school sounds and arrangements, together with Digital and Reinforced, dominated drum & bass throughout 2001.

System-D, began his dj-career in 1991 playing Hip Hop and old skool acid/Hip-house. A trip to London in 1995 converted him to Jungle/Drum and Bass. Crowned by the famous Drum And Bass website "Drum and Bass Arena" in 1998. he was overseer winner in a mixtape competition in krownledge mag in 2000. The runs the 'INSIDE' nights in Brussels since 2000. Recently, he started producing his own track and has been signed to INTERCOM records (Uk). The E-Z Rollers imprint.
