The apropos of the festival

We have established GluGlu festival because we have realized the non-existence of such a festival in Hungary that is based solely on electronic music and its joined arts.
The number of „electronic music fan” youngsters has grown a lot in Hungary in the past few years, but they have not yet been able to satisfy their needs at festivals aiming them as a target group. Hungarian festivals have not yet succeeded in growing through their rock festival character until now, although we are talking about a different target group and different needs in our festival’s case.


The aim of the festival


Now, at the beginning of the 21st century, we believe that Hungary needs a festival with a line-up excluding artists who have been on top years ago, but we have to confirm with the trends storming in Western-Europe and all across the world, still keeping its features that apply to the local audience.

In our planned festival we would like to highlight the fact to the representatives of the party scene, that there is a need for a high-standard, modern festival in Hungary. The festival would create opportunity also for young people coming from the surrounding countries to find a highbrow way of enjoying themselves. This festival will alter form other festivals both in music and in visuals, because our purpose is to present a total audio-visual show between gigantic sets. With this festival we are willing to prove not only for the audience, musicians but also for event organizers and their supporting organizations that an exigent mass event – born in Hungary – can exist, furthermore it can help the local party scene to catch up with the western trends and can be extraordinary in the region.


The nature of the Festival


The event becomes a great visual show with its special front, set and visual solutions. We are going to employ sets and original, palatial video-, lighting- and show-techniques in huge amounts and formats. GluGlu will be build up structurally, so everyone can find a program according to their tastes that is why we baffle the happenings onto three stages.


The Aquarena

For the extraordinary festival we have chosen an extraordinary, exciting venue.
While choosing a venue in Budapest or in its surrounding we paid great attention to the easy accessibility (easy to reach by car, easily approachable by public transportation or even with charter buses), and at last but not least the venue’s size and distance from residential areas were the main criteria of the final decision. Among different options we finally chose the aqua park of Mogyoród, Aquarena (which is situated next to Hungaroring, 20 kms from Budapest). The venue gives some value added to the festival in case of nice weather but is also suitable in case of bad weather. The venue with its 15 hectares and 4000 m2 of water surface commands excellent endowments: own camping, dressing rooms for 5000 people, clean and high-standard water blocks, different restaurants, bars and a huge parking lot.

Im zweiten Floor kann man sich von DJ blastafasta & DJ ramadama und ihren shocking Ragga Vibes inspirieren lassen.

GRRZZZ _sind diese 2 verrückten menschen aus frankreich, die im november letzten jahres beim med-user-fest "net to net" das haus sage und schreibe 2,5 stunden in grund und boden gerockt haben. - beisl zu... in der großen halle... unterm riesigen tarnnetz... vor dieser cocktailbar mit diesen unglaublich starken... jaja... bei GRRZZZ waren wir: mit kreischenden elektroplayback, stampfenden
beats, live-synthie-sounds, fetten punk-gitarren und monotonem geschrei poduzieren diese 2 freaks eine donnernde industrial-sound-wand, die kein tanzbein ruhig bleiben lässt! wundervoll, dass sie wieder kommen! und alle, die sie voriges jahr gesehen haben, werden wohl auch wieder dabei sein...

AUSSPOTTEN _aus`m crustpalast. Erfolglosigkeit, langeweile und alkohol haben die jungen menschen in den abgrund getrieben, noch einmal versuchen sie etwas aufmerksamkeit zu erlangen. Applautiert auch wenn euch nicht danach ist- ein armseeliger anblick wird euch geboten.

Mit dieser Veranstaltung (ist der Beginn einer Serie...) am 18. Juni legen wir den Schwerpunkt auf Georgien – Österreich, dieser ist aber nicht beschränkt auf „Nationalitäten“, sondern bezieht sich auf den kulturellen Hintergrund der einzelnen Personen.
Es ist also kein 1:1 Austausch Georgien – Österreich, viele der Künstler leben und arbeiten in Österreich - es geht um ein Sichtbarmachen der bereits bestehenden Verknüpfungen...
