Dubstep war das Musikkulturphänomen 2008 im deutschsprachigen Raum (natürlich gab’s den Sound schon vorher). „Bassmeditation“ ein Schlagwort der Musikpresse (de:bug, gap, spex) zur Beschreibung der Sphäre. Ein intellektueller Zugang der Fachpresse war usus. 2011: das Genre ist ausdifferenziert und endlich richtig am Dancefloor ankegommen! Während post(sic!)-Dubstepper wie Burial oder Mount Kimbie im verwaschenen Shoegaze-Style Klangwelten kreiieren, gehen Leute wie CHASING SHADOWS in bester Rockmanier wütend und direkt auf die Tanzfläche los! Schwere Beats, mit breiter Brust vorgetragene, zwischen Gitarrenriffs und Wobblebeats angesiedelte Basslines und jede Menge Pathos sorgen dafür, dass drumnbass seine gefühlte Doom-Variante gefunden hat! CHASING SHADOWS sind neben NERO ein wesentlicher Teil dieser neuen Bewegung innerhalb von Dubstep!

FaltyDL is former Sushi chef Drew Lustman out of New York City now making garage 'n stuff with his hands. Nostalgic tracks immersed in the old New York and Chicago sound create a more subtle futuristic Big Apple mash of hip hop, dubstep, garage, soul, jungle and electronica. His own NYG recipe.
Keenly supported by some of Dubstep’s more forward thinking personalities – Kode 9, Mary Anne Hobbs, and Jamie Vex’d - Falty DL’s tunes have graced dance floors and airwaves around the world. With releases on RAMP and Planet-MU, FaltyDL has landed securely on both critics’ and fans’ radars.
FaltyDL releases his second LP for Planet Mu - 'You Stand Uncertain' on 14th March; this album evolves hugely from his last work. From the very start the listener is plunged into his new focus on layered dusty atmospheres, taking cues from house and hip hop, and working it into balmy textures and dusty breaks, creating variation and depth in a style all of his own.
About Abey Lee Tee:
rooted in hip hop, jazz, funk & soul by being a member of the rap group "hinterland" and releasing several mixtapes, linz & vienna-based dj and producer abby lee tee also got attracted by different kinds of electronic music in about 2007.
since releasing his first solo-ep/beattape in 2009 he`s getting busy with remixes for artists like "pixelord" and "swede:art" as well as collaborations with guys like "feux" and "kalifornia kurt", running the blog "hillbillysoul.blogspot.com"and co-organising the "future sound" parties at stadtwerkstatt linz with recent guests like gilles peterson, dorian concept, nosaj thing, fLako, comfort fit and more...

Nach einer gelungenen Premiere von CITY OF BASS Vienna geht es am 15. April weiter! Diesmal zu Gast : SERIAL KILLAZ (Congo Natty, Ganja / UK) ! Die Jungs aus England heitzten bereits vergangenes Jahr im Flex kräftig ein und werden auch diesmal die Massen zum toben bringen.
Unterstützt werden sie dabei vom City of Bass Resident Dossa (London Bass), von Summit, und mit feinstem Introsound von Mr. Highfi & MC Bo (2nd sight).
