Das HIP HOP EVENT des Jahres!
Ein Pflichtabend für alle, die sich für die Geschichte des großen schwarzen Stils der Gegenwart interessieren welcher grundlegenden Einblicke in die frühere HipHop Szene der 70er und 80er Jahre bringt.
Die Sugar Hill Gang ist verantwortlich für den Megahit "Rapper's Delight", die erste Hip Hop Platte welche 1979 auf Sugar Hill
Records erschien.
"Rappers Delight" wurde die erste und populärste Hip Hop Single, ein großer internationaler Hit
und schließlich mit über 8 Millionen verkauften Vinyl die bestverkaufte Maxi Single aller Zeiten.
Die Sugar Hill Gang löste somit als erste Gruppe den weltweiten Hip Hop Boom aus und ebnete für alle weiteren Künstler den Weg für Rap und Hip Hop.
Grandmaster Melle Mel zählt zu den einflussreichsten und größten MCs aller Zeiten.
Kein anderer Hip Hop Künstler und Pionier hat es dermaßen gekonnt geschafft die Kultur weltweit bekannt
zu machen, unter anderem hat er den Namen Hip Hop und MC erfunden.
Er ist der Mastermind und Stimme der genialen Grandmaster Flash and The Furious Five (die erste Hip Hop Band),
welche heuer als erste und einzige Hip Hop Gruppe in die Rock & Roll Hall of Fame eingeführt und geehrt wurden.
Mit "the Message" kam der erste politische Hip Hop Song 1982 auf den Markt und veränderte die Musikwelt, bis heute einer der wichtigsten Songs in der Musikgeschichte.
Weiters hat Melle Mel drei Grammys gewonnen, für “I feel for you” feat. Chaka Chan und zwei für"Back OnThe Block" mit Quincy Jones.
Kurtis Blow, Rap Pionier und Legende hat nicht nur Hip Hop maßgeblich geprägt, sondern miterfunden.
Er war der erste große Rapstar, brachte insgesamt 11 Alben raus und war erfolgreich bis Ende der 80er Jahre.
Kurtis Blow veröffentlichte als Erster ein Hip Hop Album auf einem Major Platten Label und bekam als Erster Gold
für einen der ersten Hip Hop Chart Hits ("The Breaks" in 1980), war der Erste, welcher durch Europa tourte, der
Erste Rapper in einem kommerzielen Werbe Clip (Sprite), der erste Rapper mit einem Musik Video (Basketball),
Der erste Rapper welcher Samples verwendete, der erste Rap Super Star Produzent (Fat Boys, Run Dmc etc - "Rap's producer of the year 1983/85") und der erste Hip Hop Millionär.
Dj Grand Wizard Theodore ist weltweit bekannt als der Erfinder des Scratch und der "needle drop" Technik.
Gemeinsam mit Grandmaster Flash kombinierte er meisterhaft Songfundamente von Queen bis James Brown.
Ohne Theodore gebe es keine Dj Kultur und Hip Hop Musik wie wir sie heute kennen.
Mit dem Kultfilm Wildstyle wurde Dj Grand Wizard Theodor im Jahre 1983 über Nacht weltberühmt.
Wildstyle gilt heute als der wichtigste und erfolgreichste Hip Hop Film.
Neben seiner grandiosen Rolle im Film war er auch auf dem ebenso berühmten Soundtrack zu hören.
Weiters gibt es eine Break Dance Show der AIR FORCE CREW aus Los Angeles und DJ Urbs (G Stone) gestaltet den Rest des Abends.
