Die Elevate-Tour ist eine Initiative des gleichnamigen Festivals, das dazu dient, junge österreichische KünstlerInnen einerseits international vorzustellen und andererseits das Programm des Elevate-Festivals zu vermitteln. Mit 6 Stops in 4 Ländern und 25 beteiligten KünstlerInnen bietet die Tour interessierten HörerInnen einen Querschnitt jungen heimischen Musikschaffens – ebenso wie die Elevate Compilation-CD 2008, die 17 frische Hörproben liefert – frei Haus!
Die Compilation 2008 präsentiert mit u.a. Dorian Concept, Mimu, Simon/Off, Kabelton, Le Tamtam, Hadrian, uvm. aufsteigende KünstlerInnen aus dem Elevate Festival-Umfeld in Graz/Österreich.
Die Elevate Compilation gibt es zur freien Entnahme (in Haushaltsmengen) und steht außerdem zum freien Download auf http://www.elevate.at bereit.
Im Rahmen des Grazer Tourstops wird – bei freiem Eintritt – der dänische Dokumentarfilm „Good Copy Bad Copy“ (2007) im zweiten Floor der Postgarage gezeigt. Als Einstieg in das Thema des Festivals „Elevate The Commons“ klärt der Film zum aktuellen Stand von Copyright und (freier) Kultur im Netz auf. Die Musik steuerten De La Soul, Grey-Album-Mixer DJ Danger Mouse und weitere illustre KünstlerInnen wie der aus Pittsburgh stammende Soundbastler Girltalk bei.
