Vadim has been a huge influence on the UK hip hop scene, always striving, always pushing and always bringing new talent into the scene. Vadim moved from Russia many moons ago, and quickly set up his own record label, the hugely respected 'nursery' label -Jazz Fudge. This label has brought into the UK some of the biggest acts of today, as they nurtured individuals such as Killa Kela, Phi Life Cypher, Mark B, The Isolationists etc. Signed to Ninja Tune in 1996, Vadim has released USSR repertoir - the theory of verticality, USSR Reconstruction, and USSR The Art of Listening. Each album is a development, and the passion that Vadim Feels for music is obvious. This combined with his tireless dedication to the furthering of the genre has made him a great force in the UK scene. His Djing has seen him perform in virtually every country in Europe (east and west), all over North America, Australia, New Zealand. Japan, Israel, Turkey, South America and South East Asia in just the last year!!!! He has also performed with the likes of DJ Krush, Company Flow, The Roots, Pharcyde, Public Enemy, Beat Junkies, Dilated Peoples, Kraftwerk, supported Super Furry Animals, Morcheeba and Paul Weller as well as at events like Glastonbury and the Moscow Street Ball festival (to over 60,000 people!). This may be the beginning for One Self, but all this experience and musical education from Vadim and the other band members gives One Self its balance, edge and maturity.
One Self has arrived on the scene!! The Hiphop supergroup that everyone is talking about. The name might be new, but these guys are veterans. Born from rocking stages world-wide as the touring unit The Russian Percussion, hitting more than 600 shows world wide in the last six years. They are some of the funkiest , most innovative and soulful performers on the scene today. And they are bringing us the collaboration that we have all been waiting for.

Aphrodite's Gavin King is one of the reigning, well, kings of jump-up style jungle, a sparse, high-energy offshoot of drum'n'bass designed for maximum dancefloor impact. With tracks propelled by simple, rolling drum loops, huge, warbling basslines, and loads of chopped-up hip-hop and ragga samples, King's releases as Aphrodite, Alladin, and Amazon II (a side project with producer Tony B.) began ruling dance floors in '95 after top DJs such as Hype and Zinc began playing the socks off them. Although many of Aphrodite's earlier tracks were deep in a ragga style, his late-1995 and 1996 releases began bridging the gap between ragga's gimmicky, sample-heavy refrains and jump-up's more spry stepping. His discography is cluttered with chart-topping jump-up tracks, including "King of the Beats," "Woman That Rolls," "Mash Up Your," and "Dub Moods." Releasing most of his tracks on his own Aphrodite Recordings label, King also hooked up with DJ/producer Mickey Finn in 1996 to record a number of tracks (including "Bad Ass" and "Big Time") for release on the joint-established imprint Urban Takeover. He's also rumored to be the man behind any number of white label-only bootleg jungle versions, including mixes of "Mission: Impossible," "No Diggity," and the Luniz' "I Got Five on It," in addition to legitimate remix work for such artists as Dub War and Nine Inch Nails. The 1997 CD compilation Aphrodite Recordings is the best, most comprehensive introduction to his work, while his self-titled 1999 American debut collected old tracks and a few new remixes. King has also appeared at the helm of several mix albums, including Full Force and 1998's Takeover Bid: Round One. The latter of the albums was reissued in 2001as part of the Mixer "Rewind" series. Permanent Vacation wird uns beschallen, eine junge österreichische Band mit 6 Musikern und einigen Guest Stars, die mit
einer frischen Mischung aus Ska, Reggae, Funk und Einflüssen aus Hip-
Hop, Ragga, Dancehall, Jazz, Blues, Trip Hop und anderen Stilen
begeistert. Das herausstechendste Merkmal ist allerdings die klar
vermittelte Freude an der Live Musik und des Jam-Faktors; die
Interaktion mit dem Publikum, aus der im Hier und Jetzt etwas
Einzigartiges entsteht.
Nach diesem scheißtreibenden Liveact laden im bereits auf karibische Temperaturen aufgeheizten TÜWI fröhliche Reggaeklänge zum abfeiern ein - TRICHROMATIC SOUNDSYSTEM, ein fixer Bestandteil der österreichischen Ragga-Szene, schaffen es, so manchem müden Tanzbein wieder Leben einzuhauchen.
Anschließend geht die Party in die nächste Runde, der unglaubliche Wiener DJ KOS beehrt
uns mit feinstem Drum and Bass. Er liefert mit seiner elektronischen Tanzmusik genau das was die Menge braucht - schrecklich, wie das abgeht!
Anschließend wird THE ENVOY mit einem D'n'B-Set, das, je nach Stimmung, möglicherweise in die Gefilden des Acidtekkno/Happyhardcores abgleiten wird, die
tanzwütige Brut zu neuen Extremen führen.
Das ganze Spektakel für heiße 3 Euro Unkostenbeitrag, einen
Cocktail werden wir auch vorbereiten, gibt’s dann um 2,70 €
