Gregory Isaacs zählt ohne Zweifel zu den Superstars unter den Roots-Reggae Künstlern. Er blickt auf eine lange Karriere zurück, die schon mehrere Generationen von Fans begeisterte und eine weltweite Fangemeinde umfasst. 1951 im Ghetto in West-Kingston, Jamaika geboren, begann Isaacs seine musikalische Laufbahn wie die meisten Künstler seines Schlags in den Talentshows der frühen 70er. Das führte zur Zusammenarbeit mit namhaften Produzenten wie etwa Lloyd Campbell, Winton Holness, Glen Brown, später auch Bobby Digital und Steely and Clevie, mit deren Unterstützung Isaacs über 30 Jahre lang unzählige Reggae-Hits produzierte. Zu den bekanntesten zählt Night Nurse, der als Singleauskoppelung des gleichnamigen Albums 1982 bei Island Records erschien und heute in keiner Plattensammlung fehlen darf. Bis heute hat der Cool Ruler eine unüberschaubare Anzahl an Singles und insgesamt 60 Alben eingespielt. |

Die Waxolutionists zählen nach ihren zahlreichen Releases zu den renommiertesten, heimischen DJs und Produzenten und erhielten nach ihrem Album "The Smart Blip Experience" 2001 den Amadeus Award verliehen. Es folgte eine Reihe von Kollaborationen mit nationalen und internationalen Größen wie Vienna Scientists, Sofa Surfers, Andre Heller, Blade, TY und DJ Vadim.
Das DJ-Trio aus Wien, bestehend aus DJ Buzz, DJ Zuzee und Bionic Kid sieht seine Wurzeln im HipHop, versteht es jedoch kontinuierlich in neue musikalische Genres einzutauchen und damit einen unikaten Sound zu kreieren, der von Elektro über Soul bis Funk reicht.
Diese breitgefächerten musikalischen Elemente werden vor allem bei ihrer Live-Show durch die TwinTowas an Bass und Schlagzeug, sowie den MCs Deph Joe und Manuva, besonders hervorgehoben.
