Zum ersten Mal in Graz: Nathalie Wright aka DJ Flight.
Durch Tätigkeiten in Plattenshops und Promotionfirmen lernte sie Ende der 90er Kemistry und Storm kennen. Kurz darauf machte sie Goldie zu einem der Residents der ersten Metalheadz-Sessions Reihe. Drum'n'Bass Legende Fabio buchte sie als Resident für seine 'Swerve'-Reihe, wo Flight neben Grooverider, Bailey und Addiction immer noch jeden Mittwoch im 'The End' jenen soulful Drum'n'Bass auflegt, für den sie bekannt und beliebt ist; manche nennen es Liquid Funk.
Ende 2002 etablierte BBC den Sender '1Xtra', ein Plattform für Hip Hop, UK Garage, Reggae und natürlich Drum'n'Bass. Neben Bailey und L-Double ist Flight mit 'The Next Chapter' die Dritte im Bunde der wöchentlichen 1Xtra Drum'n'Bass DJs.
'The Next Chapter' widmet sich hauptsächlich groovigen Sounds mit gelegentlichen Ausflügen in härtere Gefilde.
Gemeinsam mit dem neuen Star der Produzenten-Szene, Breakage, produziert Flight unter dem Namen 'Alias' für Doc Scotts Label 31 Records und Hospital.
Ihr Track 'Vodoo' mit dem Max Romeo-Sample (Outer Space...) füllt nach wie vor jeden noch so müden Dancefloor. |
