"A Night Of Noise & Anger!" - Futurist Tour 2005
International zählt Alec Empire neben den Einstürzenden Neubauten zu den einflussreichsten Musikern aus Deutschland. In den USA und Japan hat er mit zahlreichen Releases und Performances, zum Teil als Solo-Künstler, zum Teil als Mitglied der Anarcho-Techno-Punk-Band Atari Teenage Riot längst den Status eines veritablen Popstars erreicht. Trotz aller Erfolge entzieht sich Empire immer wieder möglichen Kategorisierungen seiner Arbeit. Ob thrashig aggressiver Elektro-Punk, chilliger Ambient oder emperimentell arrangierter Techno: Alec Empire fühlt sich überall zu Hause. Aufgewachsen im Schatten der Mauer versucht sich Empire zunächst in einigen Punkbands, bevor er, wie so viele seiner Generation, von der an Fahrt gewinnenden Acid- und Technowelle mit fortgespült wird. Alec Empire produziert Dutzende von Techno Maxis bevor er 1992 zusammen mit Carl Crack und Hanin Elias Atari Teenage Riot gründet. Das Trio verbindet die rohe Energie des Punk mit synthetischen Breaks und Beats, und reichert das Ganze mit politisch radikalen Statements an, die den Sound von Atari Teenage Riot zu einer explosiven Mischung machen. Solo schlägt Empire schließlich die Brücke zwischen chillig-atmosphärischen Sounds und ungezügeltem Industrial-Rock. Die Live-Premiere der neuen Songs beim Fuji Rock Festival in Japan wird zum Triumphzug. Gemeinsam mit seinen Freunden Masami Akita aka Merzbow und Charlie Closer von den Nine Inch Nails rockt Empire 20.000 frenetisch feiernde Fans. Stadion-Rock einmal anders.

Mighty Crown, hailing from Yokohama Japan, rose to fame in 1999 after winning the World Clash in the USA, defeating the legendary Kilamanjaro Sound System. At first, clash fans labelled their victory as simple luck. However, after repeatedly seeing Mighty Crown in action, it was clear that they were a force to be reckoned with. The sound is led by brothers Sammy T and Simon, Ninja, their Jamaican selector, joined the crew over a year ago.
In addition to slots at the UK Cup Clash and World Clash events, Mighty Crown has received top billing at Death Before Dishonour (Jamaica's World Clash) and Rumours Of War (Trinidad & Tobago).
2005 has proved to be an eventful year for Mighty Crown, the year started with eagerly anticipated Jamaica World Clash (Death Before Dishonour), which crown were narrowly edged out by Bass Odyssey in the final round. Next stop London, Mighty Crown clearly had the crowd on their side and after the disqualification of Bass Odyssey the door was open for Crown to collect their second UK Cup Clash trophy. Sammy T and Simon also represented in Antigua World Clash, which they won with a landslide victory.
Both Sammy T and Simon will be on tour this October, so patrons and fans will be able to witness the original Mighty Crown flavour and no fraud. |
